Mini Project on Banking System using RDBMS
📅 2026-09-22
The Banking System using RDBMS is a student mini project designed to demonstrate the practical application of relational database concepts in managing banking operations efficiently
The project involves designing and implementing a database that maintains customer information, bank accounts, transaction details, branch information, and loan records in a systematic manner
Students identify the functional requirements of a banking system and develop an appropriate database schema consisting of related tables
Each table is designed with suitable attributes, primary keys, foreign keys, and constraints to ensure data accuracy and consistency
SQL queries are used to insert, update, delete, retrieve, and process banking information
The project incorporates essential banking functionalities such as customer registration, account management, deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, transaction history maintenance, and account balance verification
Students also implement queries to generate transaction summaries, retrieve customer account details, and analyze banking records
Normalization is applied to reduce duplication and improve database efficiency
Furthermore, the project introduces students to transaction processing and the importance of maintaining database consistency during financial operations
Concepts such as transaction control, commit, rollback, and integrity constraints help students understand how reliable database applications are developed
Basic security measures and user access permissions are considered to protect sensitive banking information
Through this hands-on activity, students gain experience in database planning, schema design, SQL programming, testing, debugging, and documentation
The project strengthens their understanding of how RDBMS technologies support reliable data management in banking and other financial institutions
